Legendary Landmarks
A series of art installations marking the legendary past of a number of mid and west Wales’ most magical landscapes.
On this website you will find doorways into some of the most unjustly overlooked landscapes and locations of Britain brought together here because they also represent a tangible link to some of the country’s most intriguing myths and legends. You will find retellings of stories that are fundamental to our very identity yet many long forgotten by even the people that live upon the land that bore them. Here you can revisit those tales of magic, adventure and heroism and the beautiful locations that may once have borne witness to such fascinating stories. You can then view the way in which the legends and the land combined to inspire the work of contemporary artist Christopher Collier and the transient monuments that he created, monuments which for a short time stood in testament to those timeless myths. |
